Albert Bloch (1882, St. Louis/Missouri - 1961, Lawrence/Kansas) war der einzige amerikanische Künstler, der zum engen Kreis des 'Blauen Reiter' zählte und in Deutschland von 1911-14 an allen wichtigen Aktivitäten der Gruppe beteiligt war. Nach seiner Rückkehr in die USA nahm er 1923 eine Professur für Malerei an der University of Kansas in Lawrence an, wo er bis zu seinem Tod 1961 lebte und arbeitete. H. A. nutzte 1987 seinen Gastaufenthalt an der University of Kansas für Forschung am Nachlass des Malers und Professors Albert Bloch, der auch erster und wichtigster Vermittler von Karl Kraus in den USA war (er übersetzte Werke von Kraus ins Englische); daraus resultierten Veröffentlichungen, Ausstellungs- und Forschungsprojekte zu Albert Bloch.
