Vorwort: Eduard Bachmann (geb. 10. Januar 1874 in Hof a.d. Saale, gest. 17. September 1914 ebenda) war ein bayerischer Offizier, zuletzt im Range eines Hauptmanns. Er war Kompaniechef im 14. Bayerischen Infanterie-Regiment "Hartmann". Bachmann wurde bereits in den ersten Kriegswochen, am 25. August 1914, schwer verwundet. Im Zuge der heftigen Kämpfe von Nancy-Épinal erlitt er in der Gegend der Orte Hoeville und Serres einen Brusttreffer. Er erlag den Folgen am 17. September 1914 in Hof. Der Nachlass, der persönliche Briefe, Fotografien und Notizbücher enthält, wurde dem Kriegsarchiv 2015 von seinem Neffen übergeben. BZK no.

The Bundeszentralkartei (BZK) is the central register of the federal government and federal states for completed compensation proceedings. When a claim is entered into the BZK, a number is assigned for unique identification. This BZK number refers to a compensation claim, not to a person. If a person has made several claims (e.g. for themselves and for relatives), each claim generally has its own BZK number. Often, the file number of the respective compensation authority is used as the BZK number.
