Die Bestandsbildung erfolgte 2015 nach erfolgreich verlaufenen Verhandlungen mit den im Ausland lebenden Erben von Karl Süßheim (1878-1947), die dem StadtAN das als Raubkunst identifizierte, bis 1941 in dessen Besitz befindliche Meisterbuch der Nürnberger Sattler (bisherige Signatur: StadtAN E 5/57 Nr. 1) als Dauerleihgabe überlassen haben. Der Bestand enthält außerdem einen Grabbrief aus dem Jahr 1732, der unter der Nr. 2 verzeichnet ist.Im Juni 2017 vollzog der Freistaat Bayern die förmliche Restitution von 44 ursprünglich aus dem Eigentum Karl Süßheims stammenden Handschriften und Archivalien (überwiegend Chroniken des 16. bis 18. Jahrhunderts, die sich zuletzt im Staatsarchiv Nürnberg befanden, sowie drei weitere Stücke aus der BSB) an die Familie. Die Familie hat die Archivalien der Stadt Nürnberg als Depositum zur Verwahrung gegeben.

BZK no.

The Bundeszentralkartei (BZK) is the central register of the federal government and federal states for completed compensation proceedings. When a claim is entered into the BZK, a number is assigned for unique identification. This BZK number refers to a compensation claim, not to a person. If a person has made several claims (e.g. for themselves and for relatives), each claim generally has its own BZK number. Often, the file number of the respective compensation authority is used as the BZK number.

This number is important for making an inquiry to the relevant archive.
